ttyS2 not working on Wallstreet
HELP!!!
I cannot get LinuxPPC 2000 to recognize the Internal Modem on my Wallstreet G3 series Powerbook. The documentation and numerous web notes say the modem should be /dev/ttyS2, but when I link using "ln /dev/ttyS2 modem" and try to use "minicom", it fails. If I probe using "statserial /dev/ttyS2", I get the error message that the device does not exist.
I loaded Linux 2000 using the CD version from linuxppc.com
"uname -a" yields Linux localhost 2.1.125 #25 Wed Oct 14 13:40:56 EST 1998 ppc unknown
The date and version surprize me since this is LinuxPPC 2000 which I just installed (late in 1999, if I remember correctly). I have been struggling to get the modem to work in linux for months now, and I hope someone can help me.
