(Answer) (Category) Linux on PowerPC FAQ-O-Matic : (Category) Applications :
Ham Radio (AX.25) drivers, tools and applications work on PPC?
Yes.
I confirmed on my PowerMac (PM7600/200 + Sonnet G3 300) with LinuxPPC Q3 that Kernel level AX.25 drivers, additional libraries, tools and utilities were compiled and ran with a little restrictions. Libraries and etc. are located in the following site. http://www.hes.iki.fi/pub/ham/unix/linux/ax25/
Free DX Cluster host program DX Spider works without any restrictions (tested V1.33), because it is written in pure perl scripts. http://www.dxcluster.org/
F6FBB 7.01d can be compiled and runs on my PowerMac+LinuxPPC. Yet, FBB compression forwarding can't be used. http://www.f6fbb.org/
Note: To install Ham Radio drivers, tools and applications, you have to rebuild your kernel enabling "Amateur Radio Support" first.
