(Answer) (Category) Linux on PowerPC FAQ-O-Matic : (Category) Applications :
What is the latest version of Netscape for LinuxPPC?
Netscape 4.7 is the latest version of Netscape available for Linux/PPC distributions. LinuxPPC Inc. has released two versions of it: one with "export" strength encryption (56 bits, as required by U.S. law), and a "U.S." version with 128-bit encryption. Note that international users can upgrade an existing copy of Netscape to 128-bit encryption using the Fortify utility, discussed later in this document.

The international version is available for download at:
                         ftp://ftp.linuxppc.org/linuxppc-1999/software/notfree/netscape-4.7-1.ppc.rpm

Installing the new software

To install the new version of Netscape Communicator, log in to a console or terminal as root, and type

rpm -ih --replacepkgs netscape-4.7-1.ppc.rpm

To obtain Fortify for Netscape, please visit Fortify's web site: http://www.fortify.net/

Residents of the U.S. and Canada can download the native 128-bit strength version from this site:
