help: bootstrap.conf
I'm using mkLinux and have specified my boot_drive but for some reason it cannont find my HFS partion on my A/UX drive.
It is in my internal drive (SCSI) so that would port to "dev/sca7" (7 is the partion number of the HFS containing the mach_servers folder)
I've read both the install guides in the ftp server, but can't get it to work.
(7100/66/ 64MB ram/ 250mb A/UX drive with 4mb HFS partition)
Pete.
What I did was re-download the 3 individual bootstrap.conf et al. from the fpt site in binary mode - previously I just downloaded the binhex'ed archive. Now it works.
(oh yes, the lilp.conf is rootdev=/dev/sdaX not 'scaX' as I put earlier)
now.. if only I could get my ColorStyleWriter Pro to work in mkLinux...
I have used pdisk to create a "swap" = 64MB and a "/" = 1.2GB. I tried to install everyting into the / partition (#8) and I changed the lilo.conf to /dev/hda8 as instructed and when I boot into MKLinux, I get and error saying that 7 partition zero sized (20001) and can't locate configuration file. What is this and how do I get MKLinux to boot? Please respond to knichel@cdcsd.k12.ny.us
This is the problem with your parition configuration. I used to have 3 linux partitions on my disk. swap, usr, and root. Mklinux boots up fine for a couple of weeks until I changed the partition map in the MacOS. The damn thing won't boot anymore. I tried to reinstall Mklinux, it still doesn't work. Finally, my solution was to format that whole disk, recreate partitions and install MkLinux. So, if nothing seems to work, format the disk will do the trick.
