Multiple Monitors settings reset in MacOS with BootX
If you are using BootX and have multiple monitors on your system, you might have a problem where the monitors reset to their default settings after Mac OS boots (640x480, no color correction). There seems to be a bug in the Mac OS which causes it to forget any custom monitor settings for multiple monitors if any "scri"-type extensions are loaded.
To fix this, remove BootX from your Extensions folder and make a copy of it. Open this copy with ResEdit. Get the information on the file from the File menu, and change its type from "scri" to "INIT" (case is important). Quit ResEDIT (saving changes), and rename this copy so that there are two or three spaces in front of it. Place this modified version into your Extensions folder. It should be the first file listed (sorted by name).
BootX won't load quite as fast, but you won't lose your custom monitor settings in Mac OS any more. If you do, then you probably have another "scri"-type extension installed as well.
