Linux on PowerPC FAQ-O-Matic : MkLinux :
Why can't I read a floppy in DR3?
Floppy support wasn't available in the stock DR3 mach kernel. Development kernels with early support were available around Thanksgiving, 1998, and the first release kernel (GENERIC #06) with floppy support was released early on the morning of Dec. 28th. Floppy support ONLY works on PCI PowerMacs at the moment, though support is in progress for other systems. firstname.lastname@example.org email@example.com
