netatalk is not working with my 2.1.x kernel
As of Feb 18, 1998, the latest versions of the 2.1.24 kernel and Appletalk module are working with netatalk (1.3 or 1.4b2). They can be found at ftp:// samba.anu.edu.au/pub/linux-pmac/. Update to the latest stable kernel and modules and netatalk will work.

Currently, the 2.1.24 kernels include Appletalk support as loadable module.

However, it is not working. If you try to insert the appletalk.o module, you
get unresolved symbols.

When you recompile the kernel with Appletalk included, atalkd won't start.
