Why does my cdrom cause scsi bus resets?
There is a bug somewhere in either the scsi or cdrom code that manifests
itself as scsi bus resets.  For some people just letting the bus reset
allows them to continue, and for others the cd doesn't works at all.

it has been fixed for some machines.
