(Answer) (Category) Linux on PowerPC FAQ-O-Matic : (Category) Start Here! (Getting started/First day) :
7100/80 installs on drive but when starting up hangs.
I have a 7100/80 with 104Meg of memory. I have installed DR3 on the external scsi drive several times after partitioning it different each time. The install is fine and when I reboot (after changing lilo.conf) the light on the drive comes on and nothing else happens. I have changed the terminators on the scsi chain, moved the drive address and position on the chain and partitioned the drive with many different configurations. I am running OS 9 and have the system on an ethernet. I am at wits end. What if anything can you suggest to resolve this problem. I was running DR2.1 a long time ago and removed it from the system. It will not install on the new system configuration at all. It says it can not read the drive. "HELP!!" And thanks in advance!!
