Sony Trinitron Monitor - why doesn't it work?
After successfully partitioning the hard drive and setting up LinuxPPC on a 7500/100 series powermac, the monitor, which is a Sony Trinitron, simply goes to sleep and refuses to work. Why would a monitor not be compatible??

Ok, here's the deal. The video driver for the PMac 7500 loads mid boot. So BootX starts up before it does. The easiest way to correct this was to let the system boot completely, then use the desktop BootX. I installed LinuxPPC, then told BootX not to use a video driver. Linux, after the install, is able to take it from there.
