The Yellow Dog Linux Champion Server 1.1 can be downloaded from: 

            FTP:  ftp://ftp.yellowdoglinux.com/

You should try a mirror, since this server is on a slow internet connection. Avalible at this site, are CD-ROM images (so you can burn your own CDs).

The manual is avalible on the site also, however it does not include info on FTP installs, neitherless FTP installs and hard drive installs work fine, and many people have done them successfully.

If you are on a slow dialup modem internet connection, remember this distro is quite large -- you may want to just spend the $25 for the source and binary disks.
