turn off MacOS VM to run mkLinux DR3 installer
If the installer won't run, try turning off virtual memory in the MacOS memory control panel. I got an error like no large enough memory chunk, and had to restart the Mac. Turning off MacOS VM and restarting fixed it and got me into the installer.
This is with a Power Mac 7100/66AV with 16MB of RAM, and my MacOS version is 8.0. I don't know whether other models, later MacOS versions, or systems with more RAM would have the same problem or not.

With a performa 6116cd with mac os 8.0 freshly installed, the initial install boot hung at the boot screen when selecting mklinux until I turned off the virtual memory on the mac os. After that, smooth easy sailing. Maybe this is a mac os 8.0 problem and not a hardware problem then?
