The machine locks up during installation of R5 Beta on a non-blue PowerMac G3
After all files have been installed, the machine locks up when probing for the mouse type. Is there a way to specify the mouse or avoid this?

On a different machine with the same problem, a PowerBook G3 250MHz, I reset the nvram with command-option-P-R befre the chime sounded on reboot, the problem went away.

My machine (Beige G3 Desktop) locks up not at probing, but after I set my configuration (ADB 1 button, emulate 3). This is on R5 final. Zapping PRAM had no effect.

Solution to my problem: use the graphical installer. He somehow doesn't need to do this step.
