PPP transfers slow and stop after about 20K
Somehow, kernel 2.1.62 seems to have problems with a MRU of 1500 bytes on my connection. MacOS and BeOS both live just fine with this value, but Linux-pmac has all transfers pause at each 20K; many never make it past the first pause.

The solution, after much debugging (to find out that it was the MRU in the first place) is to just put "mru 512" or some similar value in /etc/ppp/options (or whatever place you're getting your PPP options from). This instantly made my PPP work just great.
