While the MkLinux DR* distributions use Red Hat's RPM package
manager and are built from an earlier version of the Red Hat
Linux distribution, that doesn't mean that they are Red Hat
Linux. The installation is completely different, and they
don't keep up with updates. That's appropriate, since they
wanted to build a working but not necessarily optimal set of
user-space programs that would allow them to get back to working
on the kernel.
Red Hat Linux/PPC would include more complete and simple
installation (we maintain a single installation program across
all three architectures at the moment, with small differences
to accomodate the different platforms), and would install the
system from RPM archives, rather than install a simple archive
of a system with a bunch of RPM archives pre-installed.
At this time, it looks like an officially supported Red Hat
Linux/PPC is not likely to happen. See
http://www.dartmouth.edu/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/jonh/lppc/faq.pl?file=260
for information on how to volunteer to help with an unofficial
port.
