(Answer) (Category) Linux on PowerPC FAQ-O-Matic : (Category) Languages and Compilers :
I'm building some package that needs xpm.
Says Shimpei Yamashita on mklinux-x:

xpm is a pixmap library package. It didn't come with MkLinux the last
time I checked, but it's trivial to build. If you can't find a
precompiled RPM in MkArchive, the source code is in

  ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/linux/sunsite/X11/libs/

The shared library versions of X includes xpm by default now. You
no longer need to compile it yourself. Just make sure you use
-I/usr/X11R6/include and -L/usr/X11R6/lib in the compile options.
