Disk Images
HELP!!! I downloaded the linuxppc full release disk image, from the ftp site and now can't open it up. I downloaded it first with Internet explorer and then tried opening it with Disk Copy by dragging onto the icon and it tells me that it doesnt recognize the file as a disk image. Then I tried doing the same thing with Shrink Wrap and still couldnt open it, this time it told me that I may need PC exchange to open it. So I went to PC exhcange and there is already an extension mapped for a .image file and it is for disk copy. So I thought that maybe Internet Explorer did something funny with the files extension and didnt map it correctly so I downloaded it again using an FTP program, Anarchy and still no luck.

try using toast to mount it, .image or •image files are from toast

The disk image you downloaded is an ISO Image.
Shrink Wrap, and DiskCopy cannot recognise or mounth ISO images.

Toast can burn a CD from an ISO image.
Id send a few bucks to the guys who will burn you a CD.
( and send them twice the amount, and get 2 CDs. I got a scratch on mine, and had to wait...wish I had had the sense to order a backup the first time, and they are nice guys anyway. )

You can burn the ISO image from Nero on a P.C. also. ( works perfectly in a 2x Apple CD 300i )

Dont forget that it is one bootable disk!
