Network settings not set at boot-time.
I've alternated between using linuxconf and netconf to set up my network connections, either of which works well to get things going. However, each time I reboot, the network is unavailable. To resolve the problem I've been changing to root, re-running linuxconf, and immediately quitting (without making any changes). A helpful dialog box appears and reports that my system is not in sync with the current configuration, and allows me to activate the changes before quitting.
What have I not done that would bring up the network interfaces each time the system starts?
The config for the interface has the "enable" checkbox checked.
