Why does dynamic loading not work in perl or python?
If you compile these programs from the original source with
the default settings, dynamic modules will fail to load with
unresolved symbols error. To correct this, you need to use the
flag -export-dynamic when you compile the dynamic modules for
these programs.

The shared library RPMs at ftp.linuxppc.org (the ones with
capital letters in their revision codes, like perl-5.003-3A.ppc.rpm)
are configured correctly; you might want to download the source
RPMs and take a look at the patches.
