kernel panic on boot | |
I recently completed the LinuxPPC 1999 RedHat install over ethernet/FTP.
it had a few ftp errors scattered throughout the install, but all were solved with a retry. At the end, it said it couldn't find some video driver for X windows. Now whenever i try to boot linux i get "kernel panic: exception in kernel at pc 0 signal 4" and it halts. I tried installing the BootX 1.2 and new kernel (vmlinux-R5-default). tried disconnecting all scsi & usb devices. I'm about to download the whole install directory to do local HD install. Will that work? is there an easier way? mhoyt@houston.rr.com | |
