Default Language Problem
I have just installed LinuxPPC 2000 onto a G3 Tower, 266MHz, heaps of memory, USB Bus card and Macally iKey USB Keyboard. Installation proceeded fine however, when I booted into LinuxPPC after installation I am presented with JAPANESE as the default language setting with X Windows. How do I set this back to good old English. It is difficult enough learning a new OS without having to also learn a new language. Help.

I don't know a nice easy way to fix this, but you might try reinstalling and deselect anythign under "Languages" when the installer comes to package selection. I had selected that and got the same thing you're describing.
I had the same problem and haven't been able to figure out how to change the degault language either. KDE seems to be mostly in english but GNOME is all Japanese. Anyone know how to change the default language via terminal commands. I couldn't find any settings for it using linuxconf.
Thanks, jesse

The link containing help on how to get rid of the japanese text helped med but i had to put a --nopends to the command. It didnīt work without it since I had already installed.
