(Answer) (Category) Linux on PowerPC FAQ-O-Matic : (Category) X Windows :
Mouse pointer frozen on screen.
When I Get into Linux (R5), my mouse pointer from Mac Os is imprinted on the screen while I have the Linux mouse pointer moving. The pointer won't go away. How do I fix this? It gets real annoying with it in the way.

I've had the same problem with a PowerMac 7500. It only happens when I go in using the Boot Linux control panel. I haven't had a chance to play with it, so in the meantime I open the control panel, hide my arrow in the lower left corner of the screen, and use TAB to switch to the L'Linux' button and ENTER to launch.
Works for now.

Well, I have exactly the same problem with my PowerMac 7500 as well Mine's running a 200 MHz 604e processor at that.
Is there any solution for this?
Thanks Brian

Well i had the same problem only when i use bootx
but when i use the program that came with the CD linucppc r5 1999 it doesn't happen. This one is called install bootx, but its exactly the same as the bootx.
You can copy it to the desktop into a folder called linux kernels, and copy the linux kernal folder from the CD into the same directory.
