(Answer) (Category) Linux on PowerPC FAQ-O-Matic : (Category) Hardware Compatibility :
What multiple button mice are compatible with mklinux?
The following mice are compatible with the stock DR3 kernel:

1. LogiTech TrackMan Marble 2. Kensington Thinking Mouse (4 buttons)

The following mice are compatible with David Gatwood's Generic Kernels (available at http://globegate.utm.edu/MkLinux/).

1. The 2 mice listed above. 2. Microspeed 'Mouse Deluxe' (3-button) 3. Microspeed MacTRAC 4. Mouse Systems MacPoint Pro (3-button) 5. Contour Design mouse (3-button) 6. Kensington Orbit trackball (2-button) 7. CH Products Trackball Pro 8. Hunter Digital NoHands Mouse

Web sites for selected manufacturers are as follows:

Countour Design (http://www.contourdesign.com) - I use this mouse and really like it. Microspeed (http://www.microspeed.com) Mouse Systems (http://www.mousesystems.com)

If anyone has any corrections/additions, please add them.

Support for the Kensington TurboMouse (4 button variety) and the Orbit trackball was removed from the Generic series as of Generic 7 because support caused problems with other mice. The support should eventually be reintegrated into the Generic series kernels (hopefully with Generic 8), but interim builds with Kensington device support (and Apple Trackpad 'tapping' support) can be found at my page at:
