(Answer) (Category) Linux on PowerPC FAQ-O-Matic : (Category) Wish List :
Wish we had SMP support
I'm working on SMP support for the PowerSurge boards. This includes the UMAX s900.
I have a working system right now that is buggy. There are some locking problems with the console and a few other problems that I haven't fixed just yet.
SMP is on the way and nearly done.

We've got SMP support.
Kernels and support files can be found at ftp://borg.mit.edu/pub/linux/ppc/kernels
These should work on most PowerMacs. There are both uniprocessor and SMP versions.
