Can I use a PD/CD-ROM drive with linux?
I've been successful with a Panasonic LF-1000 external PD drive and
linuxppc. I don't know about mklinux. Given the similarity of PD
drives from different vendors, I would expect that other brands of
PD drive would work with linuxppc as well.

Paritioning is a bit touchy with the free partitioning tools, and I
get some complaints when I mount my linux disks, but they do work.
HFS PDs work perfectly with the HFS accessing tools (hmount,
or mount -t hfs).
