(Answer) (Category) Linux on PowerPC FAQ-O-Matic : (Category) Distributions : (Category) CD:LinuxPPC 1999 Q3: By LinuxPPC Inc. :
My rpm program is old, but I can't install the new rpm?
If you have an old version of rpm and you can't install the new
rpm because it's a new form and you need the new rpm which you can't
install because you need the new version of rpm which you can't install
because you need a newer superfast version

A tar file is at ftp://ftp.linuxppc.org/pub/packages/rpm/ .
This is good because you don't need rpm to install it.
rpm-2.5.1-pax.gz can be downloaded from
ftp.linuxppc.org/ftp/linuxppc/misc
