Linux on PowerPC FAQ-O-Matic: /dev/cdrom is missing.

PowerPC Linux :
/dev/cdrom is missing.

As root:
 
cd /dev
/MAKEDEV scd0
ln -s scd0 cdrom

For the StarMax and any other ATAPI cdrom systems use
cd /dev
./MAKEDEV hdc
ln -s hdc cdrom
