PREP
This section is specific to LinuxPPC running on PREP hardware.
If you are installing on an IBM 6015 Power Series:
Keyboard lockup at login:
The workaround until kernel fix is to unplug, then re-plug in the keyboard. You should then be able to type, and continue logon. Apparently this is a timing issue, and may not happen 100% of the time. I experienced this with the 2.0.32 FD_BOOT setup diskette, and all post-install boots. This is rather annoying, but it works.

This motherboard is identified as "nobis". Mine happens to be an IBM PPC Power Series 400 6015-B1X (601 running @ 66 Mhz) It has an NCR 810 SCSI controller built into the motherboard.

Install using setup from ftp.linuxppc.org using the 2.0.32 install works fairly well.

Remember after sucessful boot from FD_BOOT (and login as root after kbd fix) to run dd if=/dev/fd0 of=/dev/sda1 to make the system boot from the first SCSI drive. (provided that the first partition "sda1" is setup as PowerPc from cfdisk)

the Linux boot just works if you have an IBM Powerseries 400 - 6015 with the S3 VGA Card. Most PowerPC 6015 oder 7020 have the Weitek P9100 Chip, which currently (Oct. 2001) is not supported, because of the lack of a framebuffer driver.
If you have having a 6015 oder 7020 PowerPC from IBM, let me know
