The compiler can't find these libraries: -lsocket -lgen -lnsl -ldl

What were you using at your Uni, Solaris? None of these libraries
exist for MkLinux, but you don't need them--I believe (someone correct
me if I'm wrong) all of the functions from those libraries are rolled
into libc on Linux.

Just try commenting out the three -l's and linking again. It probably
will compile fine without them.
