Anything but 640x480 on B&W G3 400!
I just installed linux-PPC on my G3 400 and I have not yet found a way to use higher res. than 640x480. When I tried "video=atyfb:vmode16" (with or without "No video driver") with BootX I always got the message that something has been murdered and X did not boot. I tried the Xautoconfig thing without success.
I tried G3 rev. 1 and 2 kernels and it is always the same: 640x480 or nothing...
On a 17 inch monitor, 640x480 is quite annoying... It is impossible to see all of the windows without using the other virtual desktops...
Is there a way to fix that? If yes, please, give enough details (I have been using Linux for 4 days!).
Thanks!
