Can't boot into LinuxPPC with BootX on an iMac!
If someone could explain to me how to get LinuxPPC to boot on my iMac with BootX it would be great. I installed the system and was hoping to get it up and running, but when I clicked the Linux button my screen went blank, my hard drive spun down, and I had to push the reset button to reboot into Mac OS. I tried everything that the manual said, but I'm open to any suggestions so please help. Thanks

I have a simalar problem with LinuxPPC 2000 on an Indigo iBook. When booting from the CD, I see the penguin logo, and a bunch of text, but then the iBook shuts down. When using BootX, some kernels shut down the machine, and some do something, but with the screen compleetly black. Please help me.

i was having terrible difficulty booting and installing on my graphite imac dv se. but i was successful installing and booting on my blueberry imac. i use boot x to select the os i want. use perldisk to set up your partitions and try putting your linux filesystem on hda8. that's the only way i could get it to work on the ibook. no problems since.
